When is the Auction, and how often do you have them?
We have our Public Auto Auctions last Thursday of every month 6pm in Hueytown AL.
This is a live auto auction held on site and open to the public as well as auto dealers and wholesalers. We occasionally hold special auctions on other days of the week so keep up with our website and Facebook page to stay updated on special events.

Is the public allowed to attend the Auction?
ABSOLUTELY! Birmingham Auto Auction is one of the biggest Public Auto Auctions in the Southeast!

What do I need to buy a car at the Auction as a Public Buyer?
Everyone MUST check into our office before entering the auction lot. All buyers must register in the office and get a bidders badge. You must have this badge to participate in the auction on Thursday night. You also must have a badge to view the inventory during the week for pre-auction sales. Customers must have a VALID State ID or drivers liscense, and be at least 19 years of age to register for a badge and to purchase a vehicle.
What do I need to sell a car at the Auction as a Public Seller?
Public buyers must present the vehicle title and a valid state ID before it can be checked into the auction. You must be the ACTUAL owner to register and sell the vehicle. The owner listed on the title must match your ID. No open titles, relatives of the owner, written permissions or previous Bill of Sales will be accepted. Birmingham Auto Auction reserves the right to not accept a vehicle or title for any reason or allow registration of a vehicle for any reason. The cost to run a vehicle in our auction is $20 and if the vehicle sells there is an aditional sell fee.
What do I need to buy or sell a car at the Auction as a Dealer?
All dealers must register with us and provide all updated dealers state and county liscenses to buy or sell a vehicle at BAA. We do take run-number reservations for the upcoming auction night any day during regular business hours. Dealers should drop off the vehicle in the Check-In lane, fill out a Seller Form and place it on the vehicle dash and leave the key in the ignition. Please contact the office with your reserve prices as soon as possible. If you have a third party responsible for delivering your vehicles make sure the seller name is marked on the windshield.
Does it cost anything to attend the Auction?
NO! Registration is free!
Are there fees when I buy a car from Birmingham Auto Auction?
Yes there are both buyer and seller fees in addition to the purchase price for dealers and individuals. Also the public buyers who live in the state of Alabama will have 3.75% sales taxes, title fees and processing fees. Out of state buyers and dealers will only have a buyer fee. These fees are scaled by the purchase price range. We provide a list of our fees. You can also see the fee list on our website under the link for “Public Bidder Application”.
Am I obligated to sell the vehicle even if it does not bring what I ask?
NO! You set the reserve price on your vehicle!
If the offer is close we will call you with the offer but it is your decision to make!
What forms of payment do you accept, and when is payment due?
We accept most forms of payments: Cash, Debit Cards, Credit Cards and Cashier Checks! We will take an approved personal in state check but only for a partial payment. We take Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover Card. There is a 2% fee for Credit Cards only. We also have several supplemental financing options available for those that qualify! When can I look at the vehicles?
At Birmingham Auto Auction, we have several hundred wholesale vehicles available to the public- Monday thru Friday, 9AM-6PM! Dealership trade-ins, bank and title pawn repossessions, cars for sale by private owners and dealer wholesale inventory all available at thousands under retail prices! We have one of the BIGGEST selections of vehicles under $5,000 IN THE SOUTHEAST! We encourage the public to come in any weekday to check out all of our PRE-AUCTION INVENTORY, and BUY LIKE THE DEALERS BUY AT THOUSANDS BELOW RETAIL PRICES!
Is there a warranty or guarantee when I buy a car?
No. Every car sold at Birmingham Auto Auction is sold As-Is and we do not allow returns or refunds other than what qualifies as arbitratable on auction night only. We do offer a limited “Ride & Drive” warrenty on auction night until 10pm for vehicles sold under a “Green Light”. See our Auction Light System section on the homepage for more information. Test drives are available anytime that we are open PLUS you are welcome to bring in your own mechanic or even buy a pre-sale inspection through City Auto Garage. We also do inspections and oil changes on most of the vehicles the Auction actually bought for re-sale. Our sales team will try to help you make the best decision and give our expert opinion on the quality of any certain vehicle but we cannot predict the future or predict what problems may or may not develope in the future. We do not offer any warrenties or gaurentees for any wholesale vehicle. But this is standard when buying used vehicles in these price ranges.
Can I walk in and buy a car right off the lot?

Do you have any financing options?
Yes! We now have several financing options available for many of our vehicles sold off the lot. We do not offer financing on the vehicles that run through the actual auction on Thursday nights though. If you are bidding at auction you must have your money available in full the night of the sale. We have financing options available during the week for those customers that qualify. These are sub-prime lenders that do not require you to have perfect credit. You would need to have established credit though. No recent repossessions or bankrupcy either. They do require proof of employeement, proof of residence, a Valid Drivers License and at least 20% down. Some vehicles, depending on its age and mileage, may require a larger % down.
